FPL
Miami, Florida
Florida Power & Light proposed a new substation in the heart of Miami Beach.
The facade that KOBI KARP envisioned for this substation was meant to be something special and that could complement the character of Miami Beach. The design intent was to have undulated fins with significant depths and to achieve a modern and clean look.
ES Metals engineering team came up with a design that could fit the budget and could be installed in the field with an accelerated schedule….
To achieve the design intent ES Metals proposed 31 different fin types across the facade. The entire aluminum fin was composed of 3 modules and when fully assembled in the field it reached a heigh of 60ft. The fin was composed of 3 pieces and when fully assembled on the field the total height would reach almost 60ft.
ES Metals is proud to share this project with our trade partners, as it displays our expertise in design assistance and our quality of work with architectural metal.
